WOYWW '66'

First of all I would like to say a big THANK YOU to Bluebird and Elizabeth. who stopped by my blog yesterday to tell me that they are choosing me to be their 'Blog of the Day' for today. I am truly greatfull and please stop by there to say Hi.
As a result of desk hopping last week, I decided to sign up to the Learn Something New Every day. Well by now I should be starting project 7 but I've only just finished number 3 and have only blogged number 1. Lesson learned...............far too busy to take on a daily class!!!
Any way on Sunday in the pouring down rain, I went to a car boot sale (which was ironically named 'Stormy Down Market'!!) and found this..............

It had 12 glass bottles with stoppers in and was originally a 'Spice Cabinet'.  I knew instantly i NEEDED it, so I picked it up off the floor and the back of the drawers fell off........I turned quickly to my DH and without me saying a word he said "its OK I can fix that" and at the same time he was putting his hand in his pocket and getting out the £3:00 to pay for it........ I suppose my face said it all!!!
Here it is now standing proud on my desk...............
.............still needs a lot more TLC before I can store my Distress Re Inkers in it, as suggested by my DS -  Dylan. (what a smart child I have ......sometimes!!) I've just got to collect all the re inkers now!!

That's it from me, I've got a day off today to take Dad to the hospital for check up (he's doing OK thank goodness) and then to B&Q to see if I can find a glaze or varnish for my new addition!

See you later, Happy WOYWW..........xx

P.S. If you've arrived here on the off chance and are wondering what's going on hop over to Julia "Queen of the WOWWers" blog to find out what it's all about. Link is on the side of my blog.

Well aren't you the sweetest! Thank YOU for the shout out. Your son really IS smart. I would have thought you would keep glitter or something in the spice jars, but Distress Reinkers is so much better and what a fancy place to keep them. And I would say you have a super hubby, too for not only paying for it, but offering to fix it.

Glad to hear the hospital is only for a check-up. Keep us posted on his status and Happy WOYWW.

That's a genius idea. I have one of those spice racks too, but I've never known what to do with it! Please thank your very smart child!

And congrats on being Bluebird & Elizabeth's blog of the day.

Oooh what an exciting find! and you have already painted it too! it would be sat there for about 2 months (maybe more) on my desk whilst I thought about what to do with it! Thanks for the comments about my LSNED book - I am hoping it will help preparing all the pages beforehand (took me most of Saturday to do it!) so now I can just embellish quickly as I also have a bag of bits to use - the theory there is that I just grab something out of the bag rather than spend ages looking through my stash for something to use - that said I am already a day behind too! mind you I was teaching a class yesterday so I have an excuse! Congrats on being blog of the day too - its well deserved!

What a find - and only £3.00. An absolute bargain I'd say!

Ohhh Snap said...

It's a lovely Distress Re-inkers cabinet. Beautiful and functional. Can't get better than that! I can do a daily thing if it's only for a week, but add photographing and posting into the mix and... I tend to wander off feeling overwhelmed.

Nan said...

Oh don't you just love a good find! And a willing DH to boot! Love seeing your great space! :)Nan

Some of the gals I stamp with like to say we have a "container fettish". We absolutley go crazy when someone discovers a new storage container. They would absolutely turn green with envy if they saw this little treasure.
